Psalm 99:4
The might of the King loves justice. You have established equity.
The Jesus I know values all – especially those on the margins, those who have systemically been silenced or ignored. Women, people who are disabled, people of color, immigrants, and folx who are LGBTQIA+.
I know this about Jesus, but I also feel as if I am still waiting for my King to establish equity. In fact, everything I know about equity, diversity, and inclusion is currently being systematically wiped from modern-day society through executive orders.
And I am left further in the margins waiting for the low to be lifted high. I am still waiting for justice and the waiting is breaking my heart.
Perhaps your heart is breaking too and you are turning to our God for comfort. Jesus is with us in the margins and the day is not done, the King has yet to come. Redemption is on its way.
What does waiting for justice feel like in your own life? Where do you see signs of hope, and where do you feel discouraged?
DEI is a good cause, but was done very inefficiently by government. Far better to ensure existing recruiting jobs go to those inadequately represented in our governments and organizations to ensure better future employment proportional to area government populations. Why tax working class to hire college grad elites to do work recruiters should already be doing, if properly represented? Routine training aspects should be online and automated. The tax savings on DEI jobs and benefits could far better help so many other DEI neighbors in far greater need
