Psalm 139:13
You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother.
Today, we’re looking at the vast inner landscape of humanity. God not only created an outer world so vast, diverse, and beautiful but, in turn, also created us – with all our differences, complexities, and uniqueness.
Just like the rest of creation, God didn’t settle on one monotonous note, which would get tedious to listen to over and over in one endless loop. Instead, the Divine wanted a larger symphony–one with differing personalities, gender identities, ethnicities, abilities, and more. Each person’s experience and voice adds to God’s creativity.
These inner landscapes, as mentioned by the Psalmist, shaped by our experiences, cultures, and identities, are something to be celebrated.
How might you celebrate the diversity of humanity today?
Imagine someone whose thoughts, feelings, and experiences greatly differ from your own. Take time to learn about these differences–with gratitude and humility, and seek opportunities to celebrate their inner landscape.
