Luke 4:24
Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in the prophet’s hometown.
While the people in your life are undoubtedly important, they may not be able to see your truth, your true potential. Sometimes, their familiarity binds them to relational blindness.
Just like Jesus's own people could not see who he really was, those closest to you might overlook your true gift. It's easy to miss what is right in front of us, just as if you are standing in the trees, you may not recognize the forest.
So as you go throughout your day, do not be discouraged. Do not feel faint of heart. For your gifts and potential are not limited to the views of those around you, just as Jesus’s were not.
Have you ever felt unseen or misunderstood by those closest to you? How did that experience shape you? Who in your life uplifts and recognizes your gifts? How can you nurture those relationships?
