the vulnerability of joy
Where might you be missing out on God’s work because it feels scary to trust that joy and good things are real?
Mark 5 : 15 & 17
They came to Jesus and saw the man possessed by demons sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the legion, and they became frightened. Then they began to beg Jesus to leave their neighborhood.
This happens frequently in the gospels. Jesus does something miraculous, and the local people are like, “yeeeeeah, no. We need you to leave,” even though Jesus’ work and message are essentially good news. The man is well!
However, I relate to these people. I personally find joy and good things much more scary and vulnerable than hard and sorrowful ones. Where might this be true in your life?
