the joy of justice
How can you be opening yourself up to the joy that’s possible when you love justice? How would that change your relationship to the movement work that’s in front of you?
Psalm 45:7
Because you love justice and hate corruption, God, your God, has…anointed you with the oil of gladness.
I don’t know that I automatically associate a love of justice with a spirit of gladness.
For me, my sense of justice makes me rage and lament over all of the injustice I see and experience.
I wonder what would be possible if I allowed the Spirit to work her way through my heart about this? If maybe I celebrated the joy and gladness found in community that comes from solidarity. And turned my attention to delight in the goodness of building systems of care and repair.
Maybe my capacity for the work would increase a bit more.
Maybe I’d lean into community a bit more and remember I don’t go this alone.
Maybe the Spirit might show up more often to sprinkle that gladness oil on my soul and empower me to rest in the beauty of it all.
How can you be opening yourself up to the joy that’s possible when you love justice? How would that change your relationship to the movement work that’s in front of you?
