take time to connect
As seasons shift and change it's easy for connections to get lost in the shuffle, aho is someone close to you that could use some time with you this week?
1 Timothy 5:8
And whoever does not provide for their own, and especially for family members, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
When we hit liturgical seasons, I find my reflex is to look outward: am I engaging with the needs of my community? Are my priorities inclusive? Where can I get involved or become more educated?
So it's interesting to have this passage centered during this week, and it's caused me to take a beat and shift my lens for the season.
How often do I take the opportunity of holy seasons to check the pulse on my own, actual family (or chosen family)? I think I go throughout the year with the feeling that I'm engaging in that community regularly -- surely I'm aware of the needs of those I keep close, and actively listen and learn about the folks in my life?
Even so, shouldn't I also use the turning of the seasons as the perfect time to devote some love and attention to the folks who see me through my worst? Maybe this year is a good time to start.
Who is someone close to you that could use some time with you this week?
