sharing in community
How can you share your resources with someone in your community, even if it feels small or inconsequential?
1 Kings 17:15
She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.
There have been times in my life when I’ve felt the overwhelming twinge of worry. Times where I’ve wondered how I will get through a seemingly insurmountable situation. Like when our car was stolen and we needed to figure out how to take care of our daily needs without one, or when our power went out during a summer storm and all our food spoiled, or when my wallet was stolen while living abroad as a young adult, cutting me off from access to money.
Each of these events was hard, but they showed me the power of community. How when people come together, especially in hard times, that we can make it through.
Just as the widow shared in this Scripture and the early disciples shared long ago, we can help one another with food insecurity and resource scarcity. We can help each other through tough times.
How can you share your resources with someone in your community, even if it feels small or inconsequential?
