Sacred Sorrows
What emotions are you carrying today that you want to bring honestly before God without editing or hiding them?
Psalm 6:8
The Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
On many occasions, life can feel overwhelming. We may find ourselves deep in sorrows feeling weak, helpless, and afraid just as David did: "Every night I flood my bed with tears."
But God reminds us that God is always with us and always hears us, even our silent cries. To God, your pain is not invisible. Where people may not understand your pain and choose to overlook it, God sees you and understands you — in all your joys, and in all of your pain.
Even when you're too tired to pray to God with your words, your feelings and the inspirations and expressions in your heart are heard even still.
As you go through your day, trust that God's love is bigger than the sorrows you feel. Trust that even if others overlook you, there is always someone who watches over you… "The Lord has heard the sound of my weeping." And trust that God will help to heal you.
What emotions are you carrying today that you want to bring honestly before God without editing or hiding them? How can you be more gentle with yourself in moments of weariness?

I want to stop pretending that any of this is normal. I want to let myself be sad, and know that God is holding it, all of it.
