Right on Time
Where in my life am I struggling to wait on God's timing, and how can I be gentle with my impatience?
Acts 1:8
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; then you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.
After Jesus resurrected, he spent 40 days with his disciples, educating them on the reign of God.
He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit, promising, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." The disciples wanted to know God's timeline, but Jesus instead reminded them "It is not for you to know the times."
In an impatient world, waiting on God's timing, and trusting God can be challenging. But it is essential. When we are empowered by the Holy Spirit and anchored by full trust, we will be equipped to receive the gifts God has for us that – even though we cannot predict when they will show up – are always right on time.
Where in my life am I struggling to wait on God's timing, and how can I be gentle with my impatience? What is one practice I can take up to help me stay anchored while I wait — prayer, breath work, journaling, or serving?
