Renewal
Where am I being invited to grow into a new version of myself?
Romans 6:5–11
“So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”
In this passage, Paul encourages us to die to our former selves and allow our new life to be lived as Christ’s life within us. Even after we surrender our old selves in obedience to Christ’s teachings, many of us struggle to release our former lives, often shaped by years of conforming to a divisive world.
But Paul calls us to rethink this. The old self is no longer who we are. We don’t need to avoid the past or pretend it didn’t happen, but we must decide which stories about ourselves we will choose to live by. To fully embrace this new life, we must be willing to forgive, move on from our past actions, and open ourselves to who we can become with God.
What “stories” about myself am I choosing to live by right now? Where am I being invited to grow into a new version of myself?
