parched no more
If we can imagine a dry and thirsty land, chances are we're not alone. The Spirit is found in relationship, in the space between you and me. How might you be the water someone needs today?
Isaiah 44:3
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground
Have you ever watered a neglected house plant? You can almost hear the roots gulp as the water disappears.
Later in Isaiah it says, “I will pour my Spirit upon you”. I find myself parched at times, wanting to gulp the Spirit like that thirsty houseplant.
There is so much I don’t know or understand about faith but I find comfort in a Creator who has given us the Holy Spirit. So much feels unpredictable, but doable when I'm not alone.
Like water for a thirsty house plant, the Spirit offers nourishment when I need it most.
How has the Spirit nourished you lately?
In those moments when life feels thirsty and dry, what nourishes you? A relationship? A ritual? A practice or habit?
If we can imagine a dry and thirsty land for ourselves, chances are we're not alone. The Spirit is found in relationship, in the space between you and me. How might you be the water someone needs today?
