Nothing to Fear
What is one fear that you are willing to surrender in exchange for God’s promises?
Isaiah 43:5
Fear not. For I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east and from the west I will gather you.
Who would you be if you couldn’t fear?
I think this is the question that the Creator is always asking of us. So, often God’s messages to humanity begin with these words, “fear not”. Then they are followed by the reasons why we should remember that with God all is well. And yet, in a world that is so unpredictable, it is often very difficult to connect with that awareness.
After all, it is not just our own wellbeing that concerns us, but that of our partners, children, and wider communities–those with whom our sense of belonging becomes tangible. In order for us to feel safe we need to know that the future of those we love is also secure. But when we trust that the God who loves us is our ever present help and the shaper of all futures we know that there is truly nothing to fear.
