2 Samuel 11:15
In the letter he wrote, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hardest fighting, and then draw back from him, that he may be struck down and die.”
This is why I like the bible - it's full of mess. Messy people that God still loves.
David’s story in this chapter is a prime example: a man of great faith whose actions nonetheless sets off a chain reaction of deception, betrayal, and death.
We can be quick to judge ourselves and others and in the case of David - there's a lot to judge!
Let's take today to invite God into our mess. Maybe you have told a lie… and then had to lie more to cover up that lie… like David? Instead of forging ahead like David, take a moment to add God’s love into your mess. further, what might it look like to add God’s love into messy spaces of political strife and relational tension?
