Acts 17:28-29
“‘For in [God] we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are [God's] offspring... Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone–an image made by human design and skill.”
God is not someone we created in our own image. We do not get to choose who God is, or what God is about; no one does. God shows us who God is in the ways They choose; through Creation, through community. We meet God in trees and metal and concrete. We meet God in dirt and stars and darkness. We meet God in birdsong, the detail of touch, an unexpected kindness, in the midst of those who suffer.
We meet God in the lives, bodies, and stories of others. We meet God in the lives, bodies, and stories of our own selves.
We cannot tell God who It is. She simply Is anyways. And He expresses Themself in the diversity of Zir offspring.
What's one way you can honor the Divine within yourself? What's one place where you can recognize the Divine shining out in the world?
