love's call

Love takes responsibility in our relationships and holds others accountable for their part of a relationship. It can mean easy moments and hard conversations. What's love calling you to do today?

John 14:15

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

When you love someone, how does it move you? What things does it make you want to do? 

I am getting married soon - eight days from today to be exact. Loving my partner has caused me to apologize more and hold myself accountable.

It’s exhausting. 

Out of love, what promises have you kept?

Maybe it’s with a sibling, neighbor, or partner. Our relationships have conditions... commandments, if you will.

Some conditions are easy to meet because love moves us to act. Sending a birthday text is a low barrier condition. Some are harder like reconciling after time away. 

I think humans long for covenant, for a commitment to love something or someone, and be loved by something or someone.
