just be good enough
Where are you called to just do something? What would it mean if it didn’t have to be perfectly right but you could trust God in the process - even if you get it a little bit wrong and learn?
James 2:15-17
If a sibling is naked and lacks daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
The illustration given in this passage can seem a little bit obvious.
If people are hungry, they need food. If people are naked, they need clothes; Jesus clearly calls us to be a part of those solutions.
But as I look around me and try to navigate the challenges facing the world today, I am simply overwhelmed.
There are too many! They are too complex! What would even make a difference? I feel like I have no power.
I get stuck trying to figure out the right things to do. This passage is a clear reminder...
Theo, just do something. Do one next good enough thing. And, perfect is the enemy of good enough.
Where are you called to just do something? What would it mean if it didn’t have to be perfectly right but you could trust God in the process - even if you get it a little bit wrong and learn?
