is that a bunny?
Wonder. At some point we subordinate it to rationality. And, we're worse off for it. When was the last time you looked for shapes in the clouds and praised God for your imagination?
Psalm 68:4
Sing to God; sing praises to their name; lift up a song to they who ride upon the clouds—their name is the Lord— be exultant before them.
As a child I would stare into the sky and it seemed that the sky was shaping images from cloud-clay and putting on a little show of hearts, dinosaurs, cats, and trees.
All I had to do was behold and watch the images become.
A friend recently invited me to take three minutes out of our day for the same activity. As an adult, I knew I was projecting something onto the sky and the person next to me was seeing his own mind on the landscape before him.
I did take in the wonder of the sky, felt a sense of awe at the breath in my lungs and my magnificent capacity to create images out of mass with simple imagination.
For this, I praise.
Take some time to observe the sky today. Invite the younger version of you to join in.
How has wonder changed for you? What praise arises within you?
