In & Out
How does what you regularly consume—whether news, social media, or conversations—shape your internal sense of self and your interactions with others?
Matthew 15:11
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.
The Pharisees were obsessed with rules - like what to eat, how to eat, and when to eat. It makes them feel righteous and superior.
I can be obsessed with politics and the news. I want to be informed but it can be a slippery slope. This week the US happened to have an election. Some people may be feeling superior.
For this moment, let's check in to not only what we are taking in but also what we are pouring out.
How does what you regularly consume—whether news, social media, or conversations—shape your internal sense of self and your interactions with others? Is it leading to connection, compassion, or a sense of superiority? What do you do with the emotional energy you accumulate from political and social awareness?
