Psalm 29:11
Give strength to your people, YHWH!
Bless your people with peace!
Through God’s Word, we have been promised a peace that surpasses our understanding. But, in order to receive it, we must be willing to let go of the ideas that say that there are limits to God’s grace.
Frequently, we limit the possibilities of God to what we can imagine. For this reason, God must do what we can’t imagine so that we might be open to new possibilities. There is a reason why Paul wrote that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness.
It is because we often can’t let God until we can let go. And many of us will not let go until we have exhausted every possibility that we can think of–until we are broken of our habits of relying on our own understanding and are ready to be rehabilitated into God’s community of grace.
What weakness can you embrace so that you might come know God’s strength?
