Judith 15:10
“‘By your own hand you have done all this.
You have done good things for Israel,
and God is pleased with them.
May the Almighty Lord bless you forever!’
And all the people said, ‘Amen!’”
Hymn to accompany this blessing: “Sovereignty Hymn” by The Bengsons
Beloved, by your own hand, you engage with this unjust world to make it safer, to make it more whole. Your body, in all its work and tries, is holy, worthy, useful, and needed.
Your efforts, often leading to exhaustion and punctuated with the question, “Does this even matter?” are met with the blessing of a compassionate and merciful God who is active in the world – our world, even now. God sees you, God loves you, God co-creates with you.
May the Almighty that was with Judith be with you now – may you know and experience this presence. May you accept the blessing of the work you are engaged in. May you call it holy. May you call yourself blessed.
And all the people said, “Amen!”
What work are you engaged in and how can you honor that work as holy?
