Given a New Name
What “new name” might God be speaking over your life right now? How does it differ from the way you currently see yourself?
Isaiah 62:1-2
For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent;
for the sake of Jerusalem, I will not rest—
not until her integrity shines like the dawn,
her deliverance like a flaming torch.
The nations will see your vindication,
and the rulers your splendor;
you will have a new name
that YHWH’s mouth will bestow.
Through every word of this passage, God's unwavering love is reflected in God’s constant commitment to God’s people. The Creator of the universe delights in you, God rejoices in you. No matter how you feel, God speaks a new name over your life as if you were born again.
God's relationship with us is so deep and so personal, that it goes beyond our past mistakes, former reputation, or doubts about our own worthiness. We are not abandoned, nor forgotten. We are cherished by our loving God.
Throughout your day, remember that you are loved and that can never be taken away from you no matter your actions, God has everlasting love and faith in you.
