John 4:13-14
Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks this water will become thirsty again. But those who drink the water that I will give them will never become thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give them will become in them a spring that gushes up to eternal life."
Water is essential to all living things on earth. It's a vital component of our bodies and the planet itself. As the American Museum of Natural History states, “All living things, from tiny cyanobacteria to giant blue whales, need water to survive.”
Here, Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that he is the source of living water. And he is offering that water to her, a Samaritan.
This water brings life and all its goodness—all aspects of existence and love—she gets it and in full. There’s no holding back, no exceptions based on her appearance, heritage, DNA, gender identity, sexuality, etc. The power of Jesus’s inclusive love is an excellent reminder of how each and every one of us is valued.
