anchored into love
How might you ground yourself in the felt sense of God’s enduring positive attachment to you?
Psalm 107: 1
“O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
I was traveling through the airport yesterday, watching children and their adults navigate the very deeply human processes of airport lines, security, food, and travel. Everyone is clutching to their comforts; their blankets, their entertainment, their snacks, their most important possessions. I was noticing when children were responding to their caregivers with security and attachment in the overwhelming stress around them and remarking how rarely I saw kids treated with dignity and therefore responding out of a sense of safety.
I think it is rare for us to experience relationships in which we know that someone’s “steadfast love endures forever?”
If you were to take a moment and feel that, how does the security of steadfast love enduring forever feel in your body?
How might you ground yourself in the felt sense of God’s enduring positive attachment to you? How might you return and feel that throughout your day? Who might you be if you could more securely anchor into that love?
