always hungry
What are aches in your spirit or hungers of your heart do you find yourself perpetually seeking to fill? When you feel those phantom pains, pause for a moment, and realize that you are already full.
John 6: 35
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
Have you ever been hungry? Not the small grumble of a belly needing its second snack of the day but truly hungry?
I think, at some point we all gnash our teeth and ache for something.
The security of wealth,
the glow of health,
the veneer of fame,
the protection of love,
I have the privilege of having never been truly hungry. But, I have been desperate.
In a way, I know what it means to hunger and thirst as I cling to this promise.
What are aches in your spirit or hungers of your heart do you find yourself perpetually seeking to fill? When you feel those phantom pains, pause for a moment, and realize that you are already full.
