air out the dirty laundry
Today, it feels important to meditate on a God who can hold us all. As we struggle to hold all the heartache and chaos, how might we take a moment and let God open that small polarized place within?
Psalm 50:6
The heavens declare God’s righteousness, for God is judge!
Lately, I've found myself being critical of other's choices and more acutely, their allegiances.
It’s getting harder and harder for me to hold space when everything feels so extreme. My small world feels really polarizing these days. Psalm 50 tells us to “call upon Creator in the day of trouble”. It's comforting to me that there have always been days of trouble!
This Psalm opens with our Mighty God commanding the sun from rising to setting. It squarely places God as the only one capable of judgment.
This comforts me. When I meditate on Psalm 50, I feel as if God is entering my small world to open up a space that feels so polarizing.
How have “the others" of your life, whether it be in race, class, politics, gender, nationality, sexuality, etc., turned you into a judge?
Today, it feels important to meditate on a God who can hold us all. When we are struggling to hold all the heartache, chaos, and polarizing views of others how might you take a moment and let God open that small polarized place?
