A Touch of Stardust
What does it feel like to acknowledge the divine mystery in the work of creation, even in yourself?
Psalm 144:3, The Inclusive Bible
YHWH, what are we,
that you should care for us?
What is humankind,
that you should think of us?
When was the last time you thought about your own mortality, or the fact that we are each one person in a vast creation? It can be a bit overwhelming to think about- especially when we think of the cosmos and the galaxies that we reside in.
But I also wonder about the idea that God has put a touch of stardust in each of us—so that even in our finitude, we are infinite. We are made of stars, made of the divine, and each of us are reflections of the light and love of God.
What a gift it is to know that we are made up of humanity and divine mystery, of dust from the earth, and from the stars.
What does it feel like to acknowledge the divine mystery in the work of creation, even in yourself?
May that pondering invite you to practice deeper compassion toward yourself and towards others—may we embrace the mystery with curiosity and care.
