9.13.23 - John 7:38b-39a
We all experience states of flow from time to time. What if those are not just moments we get lost, but more so moments when the energy of the Spirit moves through us?
“‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ Now he said this about the Spirit, which believers in him were to receive.”
In the Christian tradition, the loving presence and activity of Christ in the world is the Holy Spirit.
The ultimate purpose of Jesus’s living water is that people might receive it in their lives, and in turn as it transforms them, become vessels for the outpouring of living water in the world through the Spirit.
Wherever there is pain, hopelessness, hate, oppression, or injustice, Jesus is seeking to pour out from our hearts the living water of compassion, hope, liberation, and justice.
Are there people or situations in your communities that Jesus might seek to nourish?
How might the Spirit be leading you to be a vessel of living water?
