8.31.23 - Romans 2:3
What strategies can you implement to experience others with a fresh perspective, and how might this shift in perception enable you to better assist others on their paths of personal growth?
Do you imagine, whoever you are, that when you judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself, you will escape the judgment of God?
Hypocrites beware. Judging someone for the very same things we do ourselves, means we deserve the same results we want them to receive.
It's so easy to experience another as unkind or difficult, but not see ourselves through the same lenses.
I have to wonder if even writing about our desire to judge comes across as judge-y itself. It's easy to point a finger and ignore the four pointing back at us.
If we're unwilling to do the work of being better, do we have the authority to criticize others? When we can forgive ourselves, and work on restoring our relationships, it becomes easier to forgive others and provide help when asked.
Once we are able to do this reflective work, we will see the world and the people in it in a new light. It's only then that we will be able to help others on this path of growth we’re all on.
What do you need to understand about yourself that you've been avoiding? What's the first step in opening up that part of you so that it might begin to heal?
