8.14.23 - Psalm 99: 4, 6
As you go through your day, notice moments when you are called to act equitably on behalf of another. What will you do when those moments inevitably arise?
Mighty Ruler, lover of justice, you have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob... Moses and Aaron were among their priests, Samuel also was among those who called on their name. They cried to God, and God answered them
We hear a lot about justice these days - whether its connected to justice systems or the justice owed to a person or group of people.
But what do we mean when we say that “God is a lover of justice?”
According to this prayer of praise, part of loving justice is making things equitable. It’s a reason to give thanks and praise that God’s character loves and seeks and establishes equity…
At the heart of equity, according to this song of worship, is the presence of both forgiveness and action.
When things are unjust and inequitable how do your prayers and actions reflect the gap between God’s love and human actions?
Can you testify to God’s equitable action today? How?
