7.31.23 - Matthew 18:23-25
When you experience forgiveness how does your body, mind, and spirit shift? Who in your world needs to experience the shift of forgivness from you?
“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he began the reckoning, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him, and, as he could not pay, the lord ordered him to be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions and payment to be made.
When we ask for forgiveness, God does not hold onto our debts or our past actions.
All is forgiven, unlike our human relationships where we tend to hold onto the mistakes of others in an effort to protect ourselves.
Even when we are forgiven for our mistakes, we often do not fully accept it.
Or if we do, we're not willing to apply that same grace to others especially those we feel are undeserving.
We should all strive to forgive just as God forgives us. By the same token, we should also rejoice in God's gracious nature and strive to be the best person we can be to show God our gratitude for the forgiveness we’ve received.
What does a life lived through the experience of forgiveness look like to you? What changes today if you act upon the grace you've received from God and others?
