6.23.23 - Acts 4:32
The greatest gift we can offer is simply to show up for others. No material things, no casseroles, no cards, just showing up and reminding others they matter. Try it sometime.
Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
Believers in God are called to share their greatest possessions with the world. They don’t help us feel secure or know that we are loved.
Sometimes those possessions are material and sometimes they come in other forms. Being good stewards rather than owners of what God has trusted us with matters.
We are meant to use these gifts to contribute to the well-being of all of God’s children.
Our belief in God leads us to be less needy or materialistic. God provides all that is needed and all that will ever be needed.
Instead of controlling with our possessions, maybe we should share them and feel the joy God has when giving to us.
We may not be able to donate large sums of money, but sharing what you’ve been given - a song, a kind word, a talent - can have a great impact on someone's life.
What gift are you willing to share today with a world that may need it?
