6.2.23 - Romans 8:15
Belonging is a central facet of health and well-being. What's your commitment to your own and other's belonging today?
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption
Even in the first century, the Apostle Paul knew that fear had tremendous power over one’s spiritual and mental health.
Paul proclaims the grace of Jesus Christ that adopts all people as beloved children of God–in Christ through the Spirit, we belong with God, no matter our quirks and failings!
This is one of the greatest antidotes to insecurity and fear, which so many people experience. All humans need belonging with others and a sense of inner worth and purpose.
The love of Christ is adoption–you matter and belong, just as you are–what tremendous self-worth and purpose this breeds.
If we are to love as Christ loves, to whom might you show adoptive welcome and inclusion?
