6.14.23 - Psalm 69:16
Pick a moment today to just stop. Stop the worry, the hustle, the proving you belong. Stop and just be present to the idea that you are loved.
Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good; according to your abundant mercy, turn to me
I did many different dramatic skits with my youth ministry when I was a teen. One of the most memorable was a drama played out to the song “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.
The skit almost writes itself with the way the song builds and has all of those “Turn around…” opportunities.
My relationship with Spirit then was one of hide and seek, a game that had a horrible ending if not played according to the rules laid out for me. What I did determined a mercurial God’s reaction.
The concept that I could be stationary, I did not need to dizzy myself into becoming worthy – was not a message I ever heard until I was much older.
May the God of love and mercy turn Their ever steadfast gaze on the embodiment of being that is you in the very place you find yourself in now.
Pick a moment today to just stop. Stop the worry, the hustle, the proving you belong. Stop and just be present to the idea that you are loved.
