5.15.23 - Acts 17:24
Where do you experience the comfort of the Spirit moving in the world? How might it go with you today?
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.
My first thought is hallelujah!
I do not find cathedrals and chapels very comforting. I have a lot of angst towards capital “C” Church - the organized religion of it all.
Lately, I have found more peace and joy outside the church building. I find holiness in a passing sunset and twinkling stars.
I am working to return to the church buildings, week by week I enter church curious and a little reluctant.
With this curiosity I find glimmers of holiness in stained glass and hymnals. I am learning that the sacred beauty of God’s vast, diverse creation may be found both inside and outside of chapels.
Perhaps you have been hurt by capital “C” Church or maybe you have found sanctuary in religious spaces - regardless, how has God’s creation met you? How is it meeting you today?
How can you seek God outside of the temples built by human hands? Where might you find comfort with the Creator this morning?
