5.1.23 - Acts 5:16
Rather than shrink in pain, how might we expand our capacities for healing to the world around us?
Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.
The thing that jumps out to me is why the “crowds gathered”. Since the beginning, the hurting, the broken, and the sick have been with us.
The sense of community is beautiful. Often in our pain we shrink back from community and suffer in silence, yet here people gathered in their hurt.
I long for the people in my community to heal, I long to be healed. This verse reminds me of the miracles of God that happen in community. When I want to shrink back, it’s helpful for me to remember that we’re all hurting, and God is invested in our healing.
Sometimes, I get caught in the loop of comparison - they have it better, they have it worse. This verse makes all that comparison a moot point. It wasn’t a lottery, it was the entire crowd who were healed!
I hope for you this week is that you find community and you find healing.
What's one way you can approach healing rather than shrinking back in your pain today?

Reframe is built around the idea that our habits can change, and in turn change us.
One of the hardest yet most effective ways to shape a new habit is to share it with someone.
