4.24.23 - Acts 1:6
As you imagine the day ahead, what's one important question that you need to ask of God or another?
Then they gathered around Jesus and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
I love the idea of family meals, perhaps naively. I love the idea of a picturesque ease of laughter amongst passed dishes.
As much as I’d like to think the opposite, this verse is Acts is not a window in a Hallmark type of conversation. We see people asking Jesus a big question, boldly.
People are not only asking Jesus for redemption but also for a save the date! They want assurance even as they doubt.
My doubts have not always been welcomed in traditional churches. Perhaps like me, this verse can give you room to ask God the big questions.
When is the last time you gathered around and asked hard questions with your community? Do you have holiday traditions where big questions come up or are maybe avoided?
As you imagine the day ahead, what's one important question that you need to ask of God or another?

One of the hardest yet most effective ways to shape a new habit is to share it with someone.
