4.14.23 - Isaiah 49:6
Sometimes the very things we overlook about ourselves are the things others need us to be for them. A voice, a hug, a pair of ears, what are you overlooking that the may need today?
They say, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the survivors of Israel; I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
Speaking to Israel in the midst of the trauma and catastrophe of exile, God promises a nearing time of salvation: restoring God’s people from their calamity and using them to be a light to the nations, that salvation may reach all people. In their moment of greatest turmoil and disarray, and often hopelessness, not only are they promised salvation but that God will put them to use!
The power of resurrection is that God enlivens broken, imperfect, not-having-it-all-together people to be utlized for God’s good purpose;
God knows what we presume to be irrelevant or inadequate and gives them purpose if we are willing.
Are there parts of yourself that you overlook that God might call forth to bless others?
