4.13.23 - Psalm 18:2
When life wears you down and you need refuge, who's your person, your people? How might you provide the same refuge for others today?
God is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Salvation, the saving activity of God toward humanity, is depicted in many ways throughout the Hebrew and Christian scriptures.
One of the most powerful metaphors, for a people enduring a vulnerable and tenuous existence, is one of protection: God is fortress and deliverer in whom I find refuge.
Though in a vastly different world, our lives feel so vulnerable and tenuous in their own ways–economic insecurity, an epidemic of gun violence, increasing inequality, mental health turmoil, political and environmental crises.
People are suffering in a variety of ways all around us.
If the saving work of God invites our participation, then we are called to host refuge, to provide healing space to those who are weary.
To whom in your life can you provide refuge today? What refuge do you need from others?

Reframe means taking a fresh look at an old story.
It’s a way of experiencing your world differently, even though the landscape may seem similar.
