4.12.23 - Hebrews 11:1-2
Mystery is important. So is understanding and advocacy for change. What do you need to let go of to grab what needs to happen next?
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval.
The resurrection of Jesus is the most fantastic, and according to Paul, the most important moment in the Christian story and all history.
Many are told they must hold unwavering belief in the veracity of this event in order to possess saving faith.
But assurance of things hoped for may not equate to certitude without questions or doubts. The resurrection is fundamentally a mystery–a thing not seen or understood.
Authentic faith embraces mystery without having to assert detailed answers to difficult questions.
It hopes in the power of mystery to give life and purpose; it is convicted of the unseen’s ability to disprove what we think we know and open our hearts and minds to greater possibilities, even life after death.
What's one anxious answer that you can surrender to divine mystery today?
