3.27.23 - Psalm 68:11
When you face a choice between being polite and being honest, err on the side of the truth... In the long run, the people we trust the most are those who have the courage to be sincere. -Adam Grant
God gives the command; great is the company of the women who bore the tidings:
Lately, in a number of spaces in my life, I’ve been one of a small group of people to identify a conflict, an injustice, an opportunity for reparations. I wouldn’t say that I’ve been in large company, but I’ve been in solidarity with an amazing few.
Tidings are not always glad, and truth telling can be met with denial, anger, broken relationships, and loss of belonging.
Through Jesus’ words, actions, and life, we are taught to be truthtellers. Yet many of us who follow Christ avoid truthtelling and truth-hearing.
Seeking truths is not the easy path, but it is a righteous path. We may not be surrounded by large numbers, but we are in the company of loving siblings—disciples, who make all the difference.
As you go through your day and week, look for the moments where you are called to share truth and hear truth from others.
Who is there by your side in the telling and hearing? What can you do to prepare yourself to share and hear truths today?

Reframe is built around the idea that our habits can change, and in turn change us.
One of the hardest yet most effective ways to shape a new habit is to share it with someone.
