3.24.23 - 1 John 4:19
Take a moment to remember what it feels like to belong. What could you do today to offer that feeling to someone else?
We love because God loved us first.
In my own faith journey, I've struggled with the idea that you have to believe in order to belong in Church or faith spaces. This can lead to feeling like you need to look, act, and speak the part in order to fit in. And that can be alienating and present the idea that these spaces are meant to be inauthentic.
What I've realized over time, however, is that growth and change aren't prerequisites, they're symptoms, and the work to belong is already done.
You are valuable and worthy and you belong here.
The Creator's love is in us and is fulfilled in us. Our only job is to respond -- to participate -- and allow that Perfect Love to influence the way we see the world and see ourselves.
But in the meantime, please remember: you belong.
How can you welcome others into spaces around you today? In what spaces do you need reminders that you are worthy or need help to overcome imposter syndrome?
