3.15.23 - James 5:16
What if things you did throughout the day were your prayers for that day? How would it change your interactions?
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Twice a month when we Gather virtually as a Juniper Formation community we pray together. In those moments, we lift up requests, share gratitude, acknowledge disappointments, seek healing, and much more.
We also pray together our version of the Lord’s Prayer, Our Creator’s Prayer. I have been blessed over the years by the depth and breadth of vulnerability of these moments.
A few weeks ago, since the theme of the Gathering was “prayer,” we not only prayed together, but we reflected on our prayer relationships and journeys with prayer. There were many differences and also many similarities. One consistent reality shared was the evolution of what prayer has looked like for us over time.
Whether you pray while kneeling beside your bed or hiking a trail or driving in the car… Whether your prayers are silent anxious tears or loud angry screams… Whether your prayers are words inherited from ancestors or phrases strung together on the fly…
Your prayers are powerful. And, these sacred, tender moments draw us nearer to a God who hears us.
What prayer practices engage you today? How might they influence your relationships with God and others?

It’s a way of experiencing your world differently, even though the landscape may seem similar.
