When the waters saw you, O God, when the waters saw you, they were afraid; the very deep trembled. The clouds poured out water; the skies thundered; your arrows flashed on every side.
The idea that all of creation knows the Creator, recognizes Their presence, power, and influence, and responds in the ways nature can respond, is one of my favorite motifs in scripture.
For me, it creates a sense of unity with all of creation. Because, being a part of creation, we do the same thing; it's our nature.
You are made in Their image; in the most unique way, you represent your tiny wedge of Their identity. And the more "you" that you become, the more clear and true your expression of Them becomes.
If worship is the act of exclaiming who the Creator is, then the most potent worship that we can offer is to become our truest selves.
What do you think "becoming more yourself" looks like? Do you think there are parts of yourself that you hold back?
In the interest of experimentation, what's one small way you can let a piece of you that you often hold back exercise some freedom today?
