2.20.24 - Psalm 107:28-29
How can we acknowledge one another and pay attention to the resources we and others have to deal with our challenges? How might we look beyond our issues to be a resource for other today?
In their distress, they cried out to God, who guided them from their troubles and made the storm calm down.
Everyone faces metaphorical and literal storms in life.
Sometimes, we don’t have an ocean liner to weather whatever we’re dealing with, we’re stuck on a raging sea in a little rowboat.
Other times, we lack a crew, a community equipped and ready to help us face the storm.
Many times, we don’t have what we need because the systems around us have forced us into a place of lack.
Getting to the other side of the storm collectively, to calmer seas, usually requires bringing resources together.
That means forging connections with others and lending skills, a listening ear, and even collective hope with one another.
There are times when we’re called to steer the ship, and times when we’re in need of help. Both require us to be present, willing, able, and open.
How can we acknowledge one another’s problems and pay attention to what resources others have to deal with their challenges? How can we avoid being too focused on our own problems and help someone who needs it today?
