God gives the desolate a home to live in; they lead out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a parched land.
Joy without justice and equity seems difficult to maintain over time. Sure, there are fleeting moments of happiness, but those fade. I wonder what it looks like for people to experience a home and how that would impact my spiritual and mental health.
Joy is a lasting disposition that comes through our relationships with others and the world. And, it’s hard for me to imagine being joyful without justice.
A home to live in, that doesn’t seem like too much to ask. I don’t just mean a physical home, either. So many folx walk an unsafe world that feels like anything but home.
For those of us with voices and power our joy can be found in building spaces and handing over the keys.
That’s a big part of what we’re trying to do here in the app. Build something and pass the mic. Create a safe and homey space where everyone can wander and find home.
