12.25.23 - Psalm 69: 32-33
As you look out on the world this week, I hope you'll rest in the joy of God with us. I hope you'll wonder about a new year. I hope you'll be willing to play the game of peace, justice, and compassion
Let the oppressed see it and be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive. For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own who are in bonds.
Merry Christmas.
I hope this day finds you ensconced in love and peace. Whether alone or with family or friends, may the joy of Emmanual, God with us, be part of how you experience your day today.
I sit here on the edge of a new year, pondering what this place of new beginnings means.
There is so much weariness in doing things the way they've always been done. The hate, harm, pain, and trauma, over and over again. And here it is juxtaposed with the beginnings of life.
I need my heart to be revived for the work ahead. I need the freedom to use what voice I have to not be in the same place again next year.
As you look out on the world this week, I hope you'll rest in the joy of God with us. I hope you'll wonder what the new year holds. I hope you'll be willing to play the game of peace, justice, and compassion.
You can make a difference. However, we can change the world.
