11.29.23 - Ephesians 1:17-18
What's one small thing you can do in your corner of the world that can make difference for someone else today?
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Christ better. Then you will have deeper insight. You will know the confidence that they call you to have and the glorious wealth that God’s people will inherit.
In this stage of my faith journey, wisdom tells me that even if I can't change the whole world all at once and "fix it", maybe I can do the bare minimum. Because sometimes the bare minimum for me can feel like the deepest sigh of relief for someone else.
I find revelations are often rotations of my lens, pulling into focus other aspects of life and decentering myself, revealing the perspectives of people who are different from me.
I have deep confidence in the fact that the one thing I can do here, which cannot be done in an eternal afterlife, is to remind people they are worthy of love.
My wealth comes from a ceaseless font of compassion fed by the deepest aquifer of grace; a gift freely given.
I hope this season of Advent might be one of reflection and growth which nurtures our ability to care for our neighbors.
What's one small thing you can do in your corner of the world that can make difference for someone else today?
