I will raise up shepherds over them who will shepherd them, and they shall not fear any longer, or be dismayed, nor shall any be missing, says the LORD.
We find ourselves having just cast our votes in a crucial mid-term election. In some places, the votes & ballots are still being counted.
I wonder if the leaders we elected can ever put aside their divisiveness? Will they decide to govern themselves in a way that will bring about justice, prosperity, and political soundness?
Our politicians are voted into positions to advocate as human agents. As people of faith, we must hold fast and place assurance in God to help us advocate for a world of justice and compassion.
When things seem impossible, our faith and our God are what help us work toward deliverance in the face of opposition.
While it is good to appeal to higher powers, we must also own our responsibility concerning our political choices. Whether we engage actively or lean on the privilege of disengagement we bear responsibility for the world our votes co-create.
