“I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7
I’m not a huge fan of war metaphors, and God knows I only run if I’m being chased. But goodness, life DOES feel like a battle or very unpleasant run sometimes. This may be a familiar verse, but what struck me this time is that Paul references THE good fight, THE race. Life feels like an onslaught, and I find myself fighting every fight, trying to run every race. But which one is mine? How do you determine where your faith calls you?
Are there other ways to minister to the world that don’t feel like a fight or a race? What are metaphors for living a faithful life that feel most aligned to who you are?

I like finding the right (read your) story. It's hard enough trying to live into the stories the world wants you to bear. Finding my story, amidst the cacophacy of crap out there, is a constant goal and struggle for me.
