No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, "Know the LORD," for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
For a long time, I’ve believed in a God who seeks to relate above all other things. Above precepts and laws and doctrines, God constantly chooses to relate to us.
The central premise of any relationship is knowing and being known. It is to be seen, heard, and felt.
For a long time, I thought knowing God meant needing to know more. To have more knowledge, more study, more teaching. And, while that work was helpful and meaningful, it’s led me to this moment.
This moment when I realize that knowledge is as much an experience as it is a book. That to be known and know God, is to experience God in my comings and goings. It’s to examine my experiences for the invisible hands of the Spirit.
In the world I inhabit, God is sometimes known as Creative-Responsive love. If I am to know God in this way, how could I ever desire to be known for less?
How will you seek to embody creative-responsive love in your small corner of the world today?

For me, this will happen in listening and practicing "turning toward" people when they want to connect.
